CAM - Measuring Transducer as IEC61850-Gateway

The version with IEC61850 is now on the final straight. Right on time to satisfy the coming big demand. Wide parts of the energy supply systems will be modernized in the next few years. And the prevailing part of the primary sensors will not be changed, due to cost reasons. The principle of the CAM, as well as of many protection devices in accordance with IEC61850, bases on the use of conventional transformers. The big advantages of the standard are interoperability, future-proof technology as well as global acceptance and application.

But CAM not only provides measured data of the monitored system. It may be used as an IEC61850 gateway as well. Via the I/O modules also state information (e.g. a self-monitoring signal), analogue measurements (e.g. a temperature) or metering pulses (kWh / kvarh) of non IEC61850 capable external devices can be handled. These measurement data then can be accessed via the IEC61850 interface.
